Abstract (EN)

Water, the source of life for living things, is the most important substance that ensures the continuity of biological life. Living things meet their water needs from water sources. Water obtained from water sources is purified in drinking water treatment facilities and made suitable for health conditions. In addition, sludge is obtained in drinking water treatment plants. In this research, some physical, chemical properties of Şanlıurfa drinking water treatment plant sludge (soil) were examined. Samples were taken from Şanlıurfa drinking water treatment plant sludge in June, July, August, September and October. Some physical, chemical and mineralogical analyses were carried out. The soil reaction of the samples is 7.3% on average and is in neutral reaction. The EC value varies between 0.04-0.06% and the average is 0.05. Organic matter content was 1.65-4.80% and the average was measured as 3.49. Lime content was 20.55-32.37% and the average was 26.99. According to mineralogical analysis, kaolinite, chlorite, illite, smectite and palygorskite clays were found in the soil samples.
