Abstract (EN)

Biogas generators used in the biogas power plant works synchronously with the electricity distribution grid. Voltage fluctuations resulting from faults in the grid cause sudden stop of the generator. Sudden stops cause damage to the biogas generator and interruption of electricity production. In this thesis, a hybrid system, consisting of a biogas power plant and a photovoltaic system, was designed and analyzed for a biogas plant to meet energy needs without interruption in Şanlıurfa. With hybrid system, the biogas power plant meets its electricity needs from the PV system and continues to work during grid interrupt. Simulation, optimization and sensitivity analysis of the hybrid system made with HOMER software. Optimization aims to achieve minimum cost by using hybrid system components optimally. With the sensitivity analysis, the effect of the change in the amount of solar radiation and biomass, which are renewable energy sources used in the hybrid system, on the system was examined. The net cost of the hybrid system at the end of 25 years is $509,047 the usage rate of renewable energy resources was found to be 97.3%. As a result of the design and analysis, it was concluded that the hybrid system is applicable and uses renewable energy resources effectively.
