Abstract (EN)

Fairy tale is a literary genre created by people whose protagonists are humans and supernatural beings. In addition, fairy tales contains a nation's language, belief, thought, history etc. many elements. In order to contribute to the Turkish fairy tale researches, "Şanlıurfa Tales" contains eighty-seven tales texts collected from thirteen districts of Sanliurfa. The compilled fairy tale texts has been deciphered by taking into account the mouth features of Sanliurfa. In the study has been followed compiling of fairy tales, deciphering and examining according to scientific methods. With reference to books, articles, journals, catalogs, etc. related to fairy tales have been drafted this study. The texts in this study are handled from context-centered theories and approaches. The motifs of fairy tale texts have been found from Stith Thompson's "Motif Index of Folk Literature" which is known as the motif catalog. From the catalog known as ar The Types of International Folktales prepared by Hans Jörg Uther, type numbers of tales have been grouped detecting according to these type numbers.
