Architectural pattern readings by digital analysis methods: Bursa - Hisar region

Architectural structures and urban settlement textures are as old and ancient as the human existence; besides that, in today's conditions where technology is constantly evolving, it is rapidly changing and transforming with our needs and life culture. To be able to read the morphological changes of highly complex architectural textures under the guidance of many factors is a prerequisite for healthy urban planning. In recent years, with the help of digital analysis methods developed as an alternative to traditional methods, concrete data on the changes in the physical structure and the social structure that shapes it can be obtained. In this context, the aim of the thesis study is to read the architectural pattern change in Hisar Region which is the first settlement of Bursa city within the city walls by using digital analysis data obtained from urban, regional and residential scale. The methods used in the study were determined in accordance with Karl Kropf's (2009) approach, which summarizes the urban tissue morphology research in four main titles in the 'Aspects of Urban Form 'article. Firstly, the historical process of Bursa, Hisar Region and traditional Bursa house is examined in relation to the factors affecting the development of urban tissue and breaking points in the context of 'historical geographical approach'. Within the scope of 'spatial analytic approach', the change of Bursa urban stains of 1939, 1958, 1976, 1982, 1990, 1995 and 2019 and urban pattern components of Hisar Region in 1862, 1939 and 2019 were measured by fractal analysis method. Finally, within the scope of 'configurational approach', the hierarchy of the transportation network of Hisar Region for these three years; and within the scope of the 'typological spatial approach ', the spatial and socio-cultural change of the traditional house, which constitutes the majority of the architectural texture in Hisar, was examined through space syntax analysis. When the numerical findings obtained were evaluated, it was concluded that similar transformation processes took place in different scales of the city and the changing life culture was reflected in the organization of the housing spaces.
