Abstract (EN)
Hot forging process is one of the most used manufac turing methods used to manufacture mechanical parts which must contain high impact, stress and strength properties in especially automotive and the other industries. Design of hot forging dies has more importance than that of the other. forging instruments. Hot forging process and various types of forging dies are discussed and design of the clo sed forging dies is intended through the text. In the thesis, it is airoed to minimise the production cost of the parts by increasing the production speed, reducing the production loses and diemensiona 1 tolerances by seans of well designed dies. In dirction of this purpose, first, free die and closed die forging are inspected and. calcula tions of production loses, selection of appropriate chip spaces, principles of hot forging die design and. dimen sional tolerances to be applied to forged parts are ail studied through the text. i i
