Abstract (EN)

The existing buildings that have double skin facades are mostly built in cold countries. The energy performances of buildings in hot climates are not well known. To have an opion about the performances of buildings with double skin facades, in this thesis a design approach for the double skin facedes is proposed. In the proposed method, firstly facades components calculations are done with WIS programme. The effects of components, on the facades? U values are brought out. Secondly, the calculations are done for a building with only one zone. Double skin facade is applied to the various elevations of the building. The cooling and heating energy loads of the building are calculated by using Ener-Wın programme.
