Abstract (EN)

The causes of migration and migration were discussed in the study through international migration theories. In order to ensure social cohesion in international migration, assimilation and multicultural approaches are considered as two main migration policies. Moreover, the problem of integration of migrants was analyzed through multicultural approach. In the research, the process and conceptual definition that prepare multiculturalism has been made and the applications of some states that implement multi-cultural policy in the world are examined. Thereafter, Turkey's international migration policy, in the context of multiculturalism approach, especially Syrians are dealt with in private. The research is a field research using a qualitative research method. In order to reveal the socio-economic effects of the Syrians living in the city of Elazig to the city, face-to-face interviews were conducted with the headmen of the neighborhood where the Syrians live. With the information obtained, the social cohesion of the Syrians in the city of Elazig, how the Syrians or local people were affected by this migration, the problems faced by / created by the Syrians in the neighborhood and the reflections of the Syrians in the neighborhood or the city were analyzed and classified.
