Abstract (EN)
Although Islam's entry into Senegal initially began through conquests, it was later occurred through the entry of Muslims into the region by trade routes. With the arrival of Islam in the region, it developed into several Mezhabs, with the Mâliki Mezhab emerging as particularly popular in Senegal. The Mâliki Mezhab extended in Senegal due to the movement of Mâliki scholars to this geography as in other African geographies and made efforts to introduce Islam in Senegal, and some of the local African values and traditions are compatible with the Mâliki Mezhab's traditions and practices, so theMezhabt was easily accepted. With the acceptance of the Mâliki Mezhab in Senegal, intra-sectarian practices also manifested themselves in the madrasahs in the country. In this study, the role of the Mâliki sect in local scientific councils and madrasas in Senegal is mentioned. Tivaouane Madrasa, one of the most important madrasa in Senegal, is an institution that educates many scholars who were influential in the spread of Mâliki Fikih. In the study, the relationship of the madrasa in question with the state, the madrasah curriculum, the madrasah's understanding of fikih and its views on today's fikih issues are included. The views of the madrasa on local fikih issues such as female circumcision, which is common in Senegal, and the compulsory practices for students studying in the madrasa are also touched upon. Finally, the process of turning the Tivaouane madrasa into a local community in Senegal is also mentioned in the study.
