Abstract (EN)

In this study, three different blends; 100%PES, 67%PES/33%VIS and 50%PES/50%VIS were prepared from polyester and viscose fibers then Ne28 and Ne40 yarn samples were produced by ring spinning system. Before processing the fiber blends they were given four different amounts of one type of spin finish material. The static electricity (charge amount) was measured at carding process according to BS7506-2. The results were evaluated statistically at a significance level of ? =0,05 by using the SPSS15 software program. Statistically, the effect of blend type, the spin finish amount applied and these two factors interaction on charge amount were found highly significant. On the other hand the relation between charge amount and the three factors; spin finish amount, the temperature and relative humidity of the spinning mill where the experiments were performed was expressed mathematically. Furthermore the effect of spin finish amount on yarn quality parameters was also investigated and for every blend the optimum spin finish amount led to the best yarn quality parameters was determined. Statistically, the effect of spin finish amount on yarn tenacity and thick places in yarn was found significant and its effect on yarn neps was highly significant while no significant effect on the other quality parameters. Moreover the oily residues amount found on the produced yarns was determined by Soxhlet method. Statistically, the effect of spin finish amount applied on oily residues was highly significant. By increasing the viscose ratio in blend the oily residues amount was increased so it was concluded that 50%PES/50%VIS can be contaminated more than the two other blends.
