Abstract (EN)

The records of Şer'iyye are one of the most important sources of the social and cultural history of the Ottoman Empire. Tereke books are usually included in these registers. In the dressage books, where the legacies of deceased persons are recorded, there is a lot of information reflecting their lifestyle, such as titles, professions, place of residence, tastes in clothing, household items, kitchen utensils, animals, movable and immovables . In this context, the tereke records showing all the assets owned by the deceased persons have an important place in the elucidation of the socio-cultural and economic history of the period. Uskudar courts canned in registers estate 1513-1793 years between thesis and fifty-nine Muslim women, one hundred and eighty-eight Muslim men, twelve non-Muslim woman, fifty-three non-Muslim heirloom record identified and a total of three hundred and twelve men were evaluated. In the light of this information, the findings dec decoded into shape and tables and it is understood that Muslims and men made up the majority of the period, the similarities and differences between the social, cultural and economic structure between Muslims, non-Muslims and men and women and groups were revealed. While making determinations on socio-economic life in Uskudar is one of the objectives of study, analyzing the wealth of people from different income groups is another purpose of the study. Within scope, the records of the tereke in the uskudar ser'iyye records were examined and the daily lives, wealth structures and welfare levels of the individuals were examined in Uskudar.
