Modeling of the ceramic forms with the help of computer aided design programs

Computer-aided design plays an important role in the process of production of almost any good in our age. In this post-graduate thesis study, ?Modeling of the Ceramic Forms with the Help of Computer Aided Design Programs? is analyzed.In the first chapter of the study, development of the ceramic art throughout history is mentioned briefly and some definitions related to the ceramic art are given. In the second chapter, the development of computers is summarized. The developments both in hardware and in software, until the computers of the day were created are given shortly in this chapter. In addition, information related to the emergence of the computer-aided design and its development is presented in this chapter. In the third chapter, applications for modeling of tridimensional ceramic forms are practiced. In this chapter, shaping of basic geometric forms is primarily handled. After this, modeling of the ceramic forms and template application are practiced. Detailed studies on each form are included here. The process of the emergence of the forms is explained by showing step by step, informing on the commands and supporting with the visual materials. In the fourth chapter, decorating with the help of computer-aided design programs is handled. In this chapter too, the first task to do has been to study with the basic geometric forms. After this, tile and border designs are carried out. These design works are also given in details with information on commands and supporting with visual materials. In the fifth chapter, the ceramic forms and decorations that were designed in the previous chapters are combined together. The application of placing the decoration design on the ceramic form is explained in details. In this chapter, the applications related to placing the decoration design on the form, changing the dimensions and multiplying them are included.
