The games which are played as a free time activity in Gündoğmuş

The aim of this research is to identify and analyze the ongoing free time activities from past to present of people in Gündoğmuş. People had developed various games and activities to spend time in old times when the technology was not progressed as today. These games and activities had come into existence with their own rules. These games, which are the most important training tools to improve skills needed in daily life, came up consciously or intuitively. We can see this when we compare the daily life of people and the form of playing games. It is seen that throughout the history the Turkish nation had various games and activities for educational purposes, for entertainment, for socialization and to spend some free time in every location and time it has been to. During the research, we have conducted, the existence of this situation is encountered in many academic studies analyzed. The evidence which supports this situation is reached at the background of the games played and activities done to spend free time. The study is qualitative and while doing the fieldwork the interview method is used. In this study, acting objectively, we protected regional terms used in the games but we didn't use the local language to be more intelligible. In addition to that, while doing the literature review for the research, it is found out that most of the games are played in other regions as well. So, we tried to specify the diversity of rules and the names between Gündoğmuş and other regions. Keywords: Game, Free time, Recreation, Gündoğmuş
