Abstract (EN)
Economic sanctions are the hard power that states impose to make what they want when the direct war situation is not possible. The effects of economic sanctions on the outcome of the Iranian case have been examined and developments have been analysed with this study. The study started when Iran ignored the agreements that it was a member of, and the international security problem arose as a result of this crisis creating fear of nuclear weapons in the international community. The United States, European Union and United Nations military response options are not possible for various reasons to overcome this security crisis, United States, European Union and the United Nations, economic sanctions, which are one of the elements of the hard-to-do attempts to solve the nuclear crisis. As a result of the extensive and harsh sanctions imposed, the Iranian state suffered great economic damage and had to comply with the terms of the agreement in 2015 in order to avoid this economic crisis. In this regard, the final agreement was successful with the mutual approval of the parties by the economic sanctions on July 14, 2015. It has been observed that the economic sanctions, which are one of the elements of hard power in this process, are successful in solving the nuclear crisis in terms of diplomacy and opening the way for negotiations and its flexibility in implementation.
