Annotation of the fifty ghazals of the Divan's Şeyhi̇

The point of this study we did consists of the annotation of the chosen fifty ghazals of the divan of Şeyhî who is one of the poets of the classical period of Ottoman literature. Şeyhî is a poet considered to be one of the leading figures of literature classics in Anatolian course, developed himself in the fields of medicine and mysticism. We have tried to explain the ghazals which are the product of the poet's craftsmanship, to enter that this versatile poet's imagination world in order to inch open the doors of that world and travel to that world together with those whom are familiar with classical literature or not. Our study consists of two sections. The first section is focused on the evaluation of historical and literary aspects of century when the poet lived in, information about Germiyanoğulları and the poet's life, personality and literary works. In the second section, the annotation of selected ghazals were introduced after a brief explanation of the concept "annotation". We paid attention to choose the ghazals which reflect the poet's inner world, his period and those ghazals which has not been studied before. In the examination of the ghazals of which we tried to get from an example of all letters, first we gave the ghazal as a whole afterwards annotate the ghazal couplet after couplet. First we translated the couplet into the prose and then by giving the meanings of the words which are in the couplet we translated it by the modern Turkish. We paid attention to the metaphorical statements, the field of usage of the words in classical poetry and the elements where they are related in the couplet. After that we tried to reveal the literary arts by taking into account of the usage of these words in which associations to bring them together. Keywords: Şeyhî, Şeyhî's Divan, 50 Ghazals, Annotation
