Şeyhülislâm Ârif Hikmet's Dȋvân (Turkish part)

Sheikh al-Islam Ârif Hikmet, whose full name is Seyyît Hacı Ahmet Ârif Hikmet Bey, was born in Istanbul and is from Üsküdar. He received a good education as he belonged to a distinguished family. Sheikh al-Islam Ârif Hikmet Bey is an important person who has taken important positions and duties at the state level and rose to the level of sheikh al-Islam. In the cities where he was assigned, he established close relations with the scientists and artists of that city, so he always had the opportunity to learn new things in environments that would increase his knowledge and wisdom, as well as the opportunity to teach what he learned. He also wrote poems in Arabic, Persian and Turkish. Ârif Hikmet was known for his extensive knowledge, fondness for reading and books, his library with rare books, and his generosity, as well as making his mansion a center where scholars, poets and other artists of the time gathered and established close friendships with many artists, scientists and poets. Ârif Hikmet died on March 22, 1859 in Istanbul.
