Abstract (EN)

Seyitömer Thermal Power Plant is one of the lignite-fired pulverized coal power plants that hold an important place in our country's energy production. Energy efficiency in thermal power plants is of great importance both economically and in terms of environmental impacts. In this context, the energy study conducted at the Seyitömer Thermal Power Plant 3rd Unit was initiated in order to increase the energy efficiency of the plant and reduce energy consumption costs. Reducing the internal consumption rate is an important step that will ensure that the electrical energy produced at the plant is used more efficiently. In addition, it is aimed to improve the capacity utilization rate and availability factors of the plant with efficiencyenhancing projects. These projects aim to reduce the total energy costs of the plant by ensuring that energy management is carried out effectively. As a result of the calculations, an annual energy saving potential of 30,461 Tons of Oil Equivalent (TOE) was determined at the Seyitömer Thermal Power Plant 3rd Unit. This saving can be achieved by increasing the energy consumption efficiency of the plant and reducing the internal consumption rate. In addition, the economic value of this saving potential has been calculated as 274,528,924 TL. This amount reveals the magnitude of the cost savings that will be achieved as the energy efficiency of the power plant increases. At the same time, it will not only provide economic benefits, but will also contribute to the reduction of environmental impacts. In the coming period, with the implementation of these strategies, the energy efficiency of the Seyitömer Thermal Power Plant can be further increased and significant contributions can be made to the country's economy. Keywords: Energy efficiency, thermal power plant, saving potential, energy audit report, efficiency increasing project (EIP)
