Abstract (EN)

In recent years, it is necessary to do new research in this field constantly in order to be able to make effective training on values education whose importance has increased. In this study, it is aimed to examine the concept of caring for self in children's books of Seza Kutlar Aksoy in the context of care ethics of Nel Noddings. In order to grow caring individuals in social life, firstly self-caring individuals should be raised. People who are caring to their own needs and demands may be more caring to the needs of others. For this reason, the concept of caring for self is seen as a concept that should develop from an early age in children. This study is a case study of qualitative research methods. The data sources of the research are the picture books and story books of Seza Kutlar Aksoy. The findings obtained within the context of themes of physical life, spiritual life, occupational life and recreational life in the context of caring for self were analyzed by content analysis. As a result of the research, mostly physical life theme about the concept of caring for self was seen in Seza Kutlar Aksoy's books while the theme of occupational life was less involved. As a result of the study, no findings about spiritual life theme and recreational life theme were found in the books of Seza Kutlar Aksoy. The most common physical life theme in the stories may be related to the fact that young children identify themselves with more physical characteristics.
