Abstract (EN)

Cultural tourism has started to be more important in the world. The purpose of tourists? arrival to the destinations those have only cultural assets is evident. Determining which components effect touristic demand at the regions those have natural and cultural assets together, will be able to help to set publicity, sustainability, marketing and the management policies of the region.In the study, primarily ?cultur, cultural assets, cultural tourism, touristic demand? concepts are revealed by researcing the concerned literature. Secondly information about touristic potential of Side region is given. Side -despite its sea-sand-sun oriented tourism- is a destination that have intense cultural assets.Continuously in the study a survey is set to native and foreigner tourists, to clear out what are the components those effect tourists?arrival purposes, and the matter of cultural assets in those components. According to the data taken, demographic characteristics of tourists? visited Side is annotated, and it is identified that Side?s archeological heritage and cultural assets effect the touristic demand in the town.As a result of the study, it is seen that tourists? arrival to Side figure on mainly to cultural assets. Therefore, cultural assets? important effect on touristic development should be considered to set tourism publicity, sustainability, tourism marketing and the management policies of Side by central and local governnments.Key Words: Cultur, Cultural assets, Cultural tourism, Touristic demand, Side.
