Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research is to compare mindfulness and psychological resilience levels of smokers (N=92) and non-smokers (N=114) In line with this purpose, The study conducted with people who have been smoking for at least 2 years and have never smoked during their lifetime. This evaluation was made by using MAAS (Mindful Attention Awareness Scale), Psychological Hardiness Scale and Fagerström Nicotine DependenceTtest. When differences between groups are examined during the analysis of the data obtained in the study, Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis-H tests were used because the variables were not normally distributed. 0,05 was used as the level of meaningfulness in interpretation of the results and it was determined that the variables are not in the normal distribution If p>,05 whereas the variables are in the normal distribution when p< ,05 When relations between variables that do not come from the normal distribution are examined, Spearman's Correlation Factor is used. According to the findings, statistically meaningful evidences were obtained between mindfulness and smoking (p<.05) There is a significant difference in smoking according to the MAAS total score (z=-2,972, p<,05). There was a statistically significant relationship between the conscious awareness scale total score and the Psychological Hardiness Scale total score (r=0,250, p<0.05) and it was found that there was no statistical relationship between psychological resilience and smoking cessation (p>,05).
