Abstract (EN)
Leader member exchange theory; It is an interaction theory that differs in the behavior of the members as a result of the interaction between the leader and the members. This interaction affects the performance and job satisfaction of the employees. These interactions can be positive or negative. It is known that this situation will have a role on both job satisfaction and employee performance. In this direction, although researches are common in the literature, they are not very common in the insurance sector. The aim of this research is to examine the effect of leader-member interaction on employee performance and job satisfaction in the insurance industry. In other words, as a result of the research, it is aimed to comprehensively examine the effects of leader-member interaction and its sub-dimensions on job satisfaction and employee performance. The research was conducted with the relational screening model. The universe of the research consisted of leaders and employees working in the insurance sector in Istanbul, and the sample consisted of 241 participants determined by the convenience sampling method. Research data were collected with the Leader Member Interaction Scale (LMX-MDX 12), the Employee Performance Scale, and the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale. As a result of hierarchical regression analyzes, it was understood that leader-member interaction in the insurance industry positively affects job satisfaction and employee performance. In addition, it was found that the sub-dimensions of leader-member interaction such as influence, contribution, loyalty and professional respect positively affect job satisfaction. However, it has been concluded that the contribution and loyalty dimension in the insurance sector negatively affects employee performance. In this respect, it can be stated that the research findings contribute to the literature and add new research ideas.
