Abstract (EN)
Accidents happened in Turkish Military forces within the last few years wereanalyzed and it was showed that a considerable percentage belongs to gunaccidents. Gun accidents resulted with serious injuries, even with deaths. Gunaccidents have a negative effect on the combat power of the Turkish MilitaryForces. Military Personel trained under hard conditions up to a certain level ofdrill are either lost or cannot be benefit adequately for the army, even withoutbeing engaged in battle with enemy.In this study, the answers to the questions, how and why gun accidents happen,are tried to be found with detailed analysis. Moreover, the training given to thesoldiers is analyzed. Information on the sturacture and the factors that causedaccidendents of the guns are also given. Statistical data gathered from thequestionnaire which was applied to the Military Personels who were trainedwith guns is analyzed with SPSS (statistical analysis program). Also a Chi-Square test is applied to find the relationships between different variables incross tables. As a result, the relationships among gun training, trainees,trainers, other factors and gun accidents are documented together withrecommendations on how to eleminate negative factors in the current trainingstructure.
