Abstract (EN)
IV ABSTRACT In the second half of the last century, space frame which have often been used are more economical and lighter than the ones which have been built according to the conventional system and the ones which cover the same area. Besides, space frame can easily cover the spacings which cannot be covered by conventional systems. Because of this space frame take their place in active structures which gain the least material and the most products. The thesis which has been prepared consist the comparision of "Braced Barrel Vault" and "Space Frame" from the point of the products and the montage expenses of the system components and from the point of the geometrical from which the system will get. The first part consists the introductions of space frame, the process of its historical improvement,the hypothesis which are related to the static solution of space frame and the purpose of the thesis. The purpose of the thesis has been planned to compare the cylinder surface one or two storeys space frames from the point of the system cost and heaviness and to find the most suitable solution according to the geometrical conditions. In the second part, space frame have been divided into two parts which are "curve" and "plane" from the view of geometrical structure. Then, curved surface space frame are examined in three groups such as; "Braced Barrel Space Frame'"', "Jeodezic Domes" and "Hyperbolic Paraboloid Surfaced Space Frame". In the following parts, the components which consist to their heaviness, their cost of products, their load resistance. These components are the elements of nodes, bar elements, conic pieces, bolts, female screws, pins, purlins and declinations, bearers. After this study, it has been pointed out the varieties of the montage from of space frame has generally been divided into two such as; the in-situ construction and ground surface construction. These two methods are compared according to theirgood or bad sides and the most suitable montage forms have been set up in different situations. Lastly, the recent examples of space frame buildings have been given. In the third part, the essential criteria for space frame to be economical have been mentioned. Then, the geometrical factors which affect the cost and heaviness of Braced Barrel Vault System have been set up. These geometrical factors are; the spacing which the arc that gives the curvature of the system passes through, the number of division, the geometrical form with the geometrical height of the system, the number of supports the symmetry of the beading according to the axis, the one or two storeys of the system, the height between the two storeys of the double storeys system. The effects of all these criteria to the cost and heaviness of space frame have been examined in this part and some results have been given by comparing whit the help of some graphic diagrams and tableaux. At the last part, the datum in the third part have been explained. It has been regarded that all these results must be the general results of braced barrel vault systems. Besides, it can't be possible to find all these reults in all braced barrel vault systems. The most important thing is to establish the effects of the changing of geometrical factors which have been mentioned in the third part. » ' ' "iıV
