Abstract (EN)
The brake pads used in automotive brakes are made from the composition of many substances. The main features required from a brake pad are wear resistance in accordance with the standards, friction coefficient. The brake pads overheat due to friction during braking. In this study, the performance characteristics of the brake pad obtained by using the materials that make up the lining content were investigated in the simulation environment. In this context, brake disc and pads which are different contents are designed using CATIA V5 Program. The pads designed are simulated using ANSYS program and the wear rates, friction coefficient thermal behaviors and surface structure are examined.
