Abstract (EN)

Study area located at Sirvan-Ozpinar (Siirt) which is situated in the Southeast Turkey. The important oil fields of Turkey are in this region which is located on northern margin of the Arabian Plate. The important potential oil fields expected under allochthonous units which is thrusted on the North margin of Arabian Plate during Late Cretaceous, Late Miocene-Pliocene interval. These areas not properly explored due to tough topography and difficult drilling condition. Miocene overthrust zone is located in the central part of the study area. Therefore additional investigation is important for petroleum explorations in this area.Existing geological maps and well data set are used to prepare well-log correlation and structural maps. Structure contour map of top of autochthonous sequence, which is thrusted over by allochthonous units, is prepared. Additionally two more structural map of overthrust surfaces positioned between allochthonous units are prepared.Interpreted data set is evaluated to prepare the structures map of overthrust surface which is located between autochthonous units and lover slice of allochthonous units. Based on this structure map two prospect areas have been defined under allochthonous sheet.
