Abstract (EN)
Political communication is a phenomenon that has been transformed many times from past to present and has constantly evolved with new developments. Communication in politics is a very important issue used in determining political actors. For this reason, it is very important to conduct a research on the areas of use of political communication. Especially the activities that take place during the election process in democratic societies to determine political actors are the main subject of this research. Candidates need to utilize propaganda techniques in order to increase their vote rates and achieve their desired goals. While propaganda activities have changed and transformed from the past to the present, the policies of political parties and the effects created by the techniques to be used by candidates are very important. Propaganda techniques have changed in line with the development of technology and changes in the tools used in political communication. It is important to make an analysis on traditional techniques and new techniques in order to reveal which techniques will benefit candidates more. The main purpose of the study is to reveal what initiatives can be taken to increase political participation and voting rates today, and the benefits of turning to the Canvassing model as a method of persuading voters to vote, based on the idea that Canvassing (face-to-face vote collection) method are more effective in the process of influencing voter behavior. In the research, the representatives of the women's branches of the parties in the TBMM within the borders of Adana province were determined as the sample. The propaganda activities of the parties and the feedback they received from the Canvassing (face-to-face vote collection) method were analyzed. In the research, it was concluded that the Canvassing (face-to-face vote collection) method yields more effective results compared to new techniques and contributes positively in terms of influencing and persuading voters by creating an increase in vote rates.
