Political participation and quota application in political representation

Nowadays, it goes without saying that there is a crisis regarding women's representation. The reason of this is that women neither participate in political life nor they are interested in it. İn order for women to take part in political life and to find an interest in it, the obstacles that stand in this way should be detected. The reasons for women to participate in active political life are as follows: to be able to use their civil rights which could be considered as birtright, to be able to take part in decision making mechanisms of society as its constituant members, to defend their opinions that they consider right. One of the modern democratic principals of political society is the principle of equality. In today's World, by means of positive dicrimination and regarding the principle of equality, several particular precautions should be taken in order to establish equality between men and women. The more point of views change, the World develops and progresses, and societies break their taboos, the more the definition of the principle of equality develops. That is why the concept of discrimination and that of positive discrimination should be questioned and should be interpreted regarding "positive discrimination" and New World Order. In this artictle/ work/ Paper, the question to which we will try to find an answer is as follows: is discrimination based on being inactive and doing nothing although women and men are known not being equal regarding represantation and articipation in politics, or on eliminating the inequality between men and women by means of positive discrimination? Moreover, we will defend the quota application in order to improve the significance of women's representation and participation in politics.
