First and Second Refik Saydam goverments point of political (1939-1942)

The period between the years 1939-1942, during which Refik Saydamwas the Prime Minister, is told in this research.Before starting to Works as the prime minister, Refik Saydam used towork as the minister of health for a long time and he has opened importantinstitutes such as Central Hygiene İnstitute and Central Hygiene Schoolduring his ministry period. He also used to work as the Chairman of Kızılaybetween the years 1925 and 1939.During the prime ministry period of Refik Saydam,1939 General Electionswere held, the Fifth General Meeting of Republican People?s Party wasgathered and Independent group was formed in this Party by the members.During the prime ministry period of Refik Saydam the Village Institutes,being an important onset in the field of education were opened andconsiderable cultural developments like First Turkish Broadcast Congressand First Education Council were achieved.The government gave great importance to the nationalization works anda number of companies owned by foreigners were purchased andnationalized in this period.The prime ministry period of Refik Saydam coincided with the startingtime of World War II. Saydam government adopted a peaceful approach inthe foreign politics and thus prevented Turkey from entering the war.Natonal Protection Law was prepared and put into force during theperiod of Saydam as a measure for the negative economical effects of WorldWar II.The prime ministry of Refik Saydam ended on July 8, 1942 following hisdeath.
