Abstract (EN)

The term "biography" refers to the life of the Prophet Muhammad, the field of study dedicated to his life, and the works written in this genre. In Turkish literature, works in the biography genre have predominantly been created through translations from Arabic and Persian. The subject of this study, Dürretü't-tâc fî sûreti sâhibi'l-mi'râc, is recognized as the first original Turkish biography in this field. This study consists of four main sections. The introduction outlines the scope, importance, purpose, methodology, and limitations of the research. It also provides an overview of the tradition of prose and rhetoric in Classical Turkish Literature, with a focus on works related to the biography genre. The second section examines the life, literary and scholarly personality, and works of Veysî. The third section analyzes the content of Dürretü't-tâc, its language, and stylistic features. It also identifies the sources referenced in the text, such as verses, hadiths, poems, stories, and tafsir citations, and explores the elements shaping the narrative style and plot. The fourth and final section evaluates the study's findings and concludes with a bibliography. This study aims to highlight the literary features of Siyer-i Veysî, often cited as a foundational text in many sources, by introducing its content and emphasizing its literary value. The analysis positions the text as a significant work within the prose tradition and as one of the leading examples of religious literature in Classical Turkish Literature. Keywords: Veysî, Dürretü't-tâc, sirah, eloquence, prose
