Abstract (EN)

In this study, we scanned data of patients followed with SS for 10 years, retrospectively. We aimed to determine clinical and laboratory findings, results of pathological examination of salivary gland biopsy specimen, comorbidities, organ involvement status, progress to malignity, treatment modalities, mortality rate during fallow up and factors that effect mortality. We evaluate 372 patient who diagnosed as pSS according to 2012 criteria of American Rheumatology Association. the mean age was (mean±SD) 55.6±11.9 and age at diagnosis was (mean±SD) 50.3±11.81. We found out that SS is more frequent among women and ratio women/men was 11/1. ANA positivity was %58.8 and this was the most frequent positive autoantibody test. women were younger than men at diagnosis time and this result was statistically significant (women:49.9±11.7 and men:54.6±12.3). Ratio of ANA positivity, rate of anemia and joint complains were more frequent among women and this result was also statistically significant. Hydroxychloroquine was the most preferred drug. Rate of progress to malignancy during 10 years follow up period was 3.8% (n:14) and mortality rate was 4.9% (n:18). Interstitial lung disease was the most common cause of mortality. According to 10 year mortality curve, 10 years survival rate was 96.6% among women and 86.6% among men. If lung involvement was exist, 10 year survival rate was 79.2% and 98.7% if lung involvement do not exist. As a result, we found that pSS is more frequent and effect younger age among women. ANA positivity ratio, rate of anemia and joint complains are also more frequent among women. We reveal that male sex and lung involvement are independent risk factor for mortality.
