Abstract (EN)
The general purpose of this research is to determine the Environmental Ethics and Ecological Citizenship levels of primary school teacher candidates in terms of various variables. In addition, another aim of the research is to determine the relationship between the levels of Environmental Ethics and Ecological Citizenship of primary school teacher candidates. In this study, which was carried out within the framework of the general survey model, the relational survey model was used. It was prepared in line with the data obtained from a total of 375 students studying in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades of the Fırat University and Hatay Mustafa Kemal University Education Faculty, Basic Education Department, Classroom Education Department in the 2020-2021 academic year. The data of the research were determined with the "Personal Information Form" prepared to determine some personal characteristics of the primary school teacher candidates. In addition, data were obtained by using the "Environmental Ethics Approaches" scale developed by Saka and Sürmeli (2013) to determine the environmental ethics approach levels of teacher candidates, and the "Ecological Citizenship" scale developed by Karatekin and Uysal (2018) to measure their ecological citizenship levels. The obtained data were evaluated and analyzed through the SPSS 21.0 statistical package program. As a result of the study, the participants' ecological citizenship scale "participation" sub-dimension scores were in favor of male participants, depending on the gender variables; According to the class variable, the scores of the "responsibility" sub-dimension differed statistically between the 1st and 4th grades; It was determined that there was a small-medium effect size difference in the "participation, sustainability, rights and justice" sub-dimensions of the participants and a moderate difference in the "sustainability" sub-dimensions. In the study, it was also found that there was a significant difference between men and women in the "environmentalist" sub-dimension of the environmental ethics scale of the participants; It was determined that there was no statistically significant difference between the environmental ethics scale sub-dimension and the variables of class and place of residence. The model obtained according to the multiple regression results explained 15.6% of the variance in Ecological Citizenship; It is seen that the living centric approach sub-dimension explains 5.15 % of the variance on ecological citizenship alone, and the ecocentric approach sub-dimension alone explains 4.62% of the variance on ecological citizenship. The general purpose of this study is to determine the Environmental Ethics and Ecological citizenship levels of Classroom Teacher candidates in terms of various variables. In addition, another aim of the study is to determine the relationship between the level of Environmental Ethics and Ecological Citizenship of classroom teacher candidates
