Abstract (EN)
This study has been made for evaluating class teachers candidates? level ofinformation about the common infectious diseases and behaving of protecting health.This research was carried out with a total of 357 (207 female, 150 male) classteacher candidates from Faculty of Education section of the Cukurova University, Thedata was obtained in the 2008-2009 academic year by a questionnaire which theresearcher was prepared on behalf of current and reliability tests of health informationand to measure students' health behaviors.According to research results, it was determined that there was a significantdifference between the levels of the second and third grade students' health information;there was a significant difference between level of teacher candidates? healthinformation and the source of health information that teacher candidates obtained; therewas no significant difference between the students knowledge of the health and parents?educational level.When the students health behaviors evaulated, it was shown that, students dontpay enough attention to their hand and skin hygiene, foot hygiene, oral and dentalhealth, health of urinary system and evacuation issues, and they behave neglectfully.However, it was found that, students of 41% think themselves in healthdisqualify,10% of them don?t think a teacher?s receiving health education is necessary;35% of them dont think that they could provide valuable information about health totheir students when they start teaching.
