Abstract (EN)
The aim of the research is to examine unwanted parental interventions in classroom management. This study was designed in the phenomenological type, which is one of the qualitative research methods. Easily accessible case sampling, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used to determine the study group. Interviews were conducted with 20 primary school teachers. Interview technique was used to obtain the opinions of primary school teachers. A semi-structured interview form was used as a data collection tool in the research. In order to collect data, interviews were conducted with 20 primary school teachers working in Yozgat using a semi-structured interview form. The interviews were recorded with a voice recorder after obtaining permission from the teachers. Content analysis was used to analyze the data obtained. As a result of the research, it was determined that all classroom teachers encountered unwanted parental interventions. Unwanted parental interventions in classroom management are as follows: parent's emotional intervention in classroom management, parent's intervention in classroom seating arrangements, parent's intervention in the teacher's assignment of homework, parent's intervention in activities, parent's intervention in the lesson, parent's intervention in students' friendship relations, parent's intervention in the teacher's rewards and punishments. The reasons for undesirable parent interventions in classroom management are as follows: reasons based on the parent's personal attitudes and behaviors, reasons based on the parent-teacher relationship. The effects of undesirable parental interventions in classroom management on the teacher are the negative emotions and behaviors that occur in the teacher. The effects of undesirable parental interventions in classroom management on the student are as follows: negative emotions in the student, negative behaviors in the student. The effects of undesirable parental interventions in classroom management on the learning environment are as follows: reluctance towards the lesson, learning losses. Methods for dealing with unwanted parent interventions in classroom management are: managing parent emotions, explaining the rules to parents. Suggestions of classroom teachers to prevent unwanted parental interventions in classroom management are as follows: increasing communication with parents and explaining school rules to parents.
