Abstract (EN)
In this study, morphological characterization of pure lines which started in 1995 and developed in the last 15 years, which has the opportunity to develop mother and father lines candidates in hybrid onion (Allium cepa L.) seed production, has been made. It is aimed to determine the continuity of the mother and father candidates who are used in hybrid onion production and to ensure continuity. In this study, 10 different onion types which has been currently used for onion production in Turkey; such as Bereket, Burgaz, Hazar, Metan 88, MT 101, MT 102, Redambosta, Seç, Seyhan ve Valenciana has been used. Plant emergence dates, flower stalk number, flower stalk length and yield were determined. The comparison of the means was made with a sensitivity of 0.05 according to the Tukey test by JMP. According to morphological charachterisations research, the Metan 88 and Seç species were observed which has tallest flower stalk hight and highest efficiency on yield.
