Abstract (EN)
This study analyzes the role of third states in the Somalia case, specifically examining both internal and external interventions in the conflict. The study examines the side effects of competition among major powers, particularly Western countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as some Arab nations like the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, which are transforming the region into a battleground for influence in the Somalia conflicts. The study employs a qualitative and descriptive approach that covers the period from the colonial period to the collapse of the central government in Somalia, emphasizing and highlighting the major external and internal factors and the roles of interventions. It also investigates the effects and roles of international actors and other groups, like the Al-Shabab Organization, on political changes. The findings suggest that the security and economic interests of both global and regional actors, forming a strategic axis that threatens local stability and reflects broader geopolitical dynamics, shape the conflicts in Somalia. Furthermore, the study concludes that these conflicts are not merely regional power struggles but also part of a larger global geopolitical restructuring.
