Abstract (EN)

With their results, disasters affect all humanity. Therefore, people should struggle with disasters and they should receive disaster training. Applying an effective disaster management, people should learn how to behave during a disaster. In this study Social Studies teachers views on disaster management were tried to be determined. The subject of earthquake that affecting all humanity was discussed. Methods, techniques and materials that used in earthquake teaching were determined. The adequacy information of the Social Studies book about disasters has been reached. This search is a qualitative search. Data has been resolved with descriptive analysis method. This research was conducted in their schools in Elazig and with 12 Social Studies teachers who are working in these there schools. The data of the research were collected with semi-structured interview questions. As a result of the research, it has been seen that teachers mostly use smart board as teaching method material. Teachers stated that the subject of disasters is not given enough in the books, the number of lessons should be increased and practical training should be emphasized.
