Abstract (EN)

11 SUMMARY In this study, descriptive research method has been used. This method has a research approach that aims to describe a past or present state in the way that it exists. Objective of the study is to reveal teaching methods class teachers have applied during Social Studies education by referring to teachers' views. The study consists of five sections. In the first section, Social Studies has been mentioned and explanatory information about teaching methods used during Social Studies education has been given. In the second section, problem statement of the research, sub-problems, purpose, significance, assumptions, scope and limitations of the research as well as definitions used in the study have been mentioned. In the third section, there are such issues as model and horizon of the research, sampling, improvement of data collection means, collection of data and analysis of data. In the fourth section, findings and interpretation obtained from the answers given to the questionaire by class teachers who conduct Social Studies courses in primary schools have been covered. In the fifth section, results of the research and suggestions given in the light of these results have been covered. Approval certificates for conducting research and a sample of the questionnaire prepared for class teachers working in primary schools and applied during the research have been included in appendix part.
