Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to investigate relationship between social sciences candidate teachers' social media use and professional attitudes. In this research, the social media use habits and motivations of social studies teacher candidates studying in the Social Studies Teaching Department of two state universities in Aegean Region. In addition, the relationships between the motivation and habits of using social media and socio-demographic variables and professional attitudes of the candidates were examined. The population of the study is teacher candidates studying in social sciences teaching department. The sample of the study consisted of students studying in the Social Studies Teaching Department of these two state universities in the Aegean region. The data related to the study were obtained by using the questionnaire developed after obtaining the necessary permissions from the studies of Bedir (2013), Ök (2013) and Üstüner (2006). Data were collected with a Likert-type scale. The data obtained from the questionnaires were transferred to SPSS program. In line with the purpose of the study, the purpose of the use of social networks and the attitudes of the teaching profession, the prospective teachers' age, gender, class, internet and social network usage time, differences between the social media platforms were analyzed with the help of anova and t test. As a result of the research, it was determined that there is a relationship between the social media teacher candidates' social media usage and their profession attitudes. However, some of the sub-dimensions of both scales showed differences depending on variables such as gender, class and frequency of using social networks. In addition, as a result of the research, it was found that there was a significant difference between the professional attitudes of the candidates of Social Sciences teachers according to the duration of social media use.
