The analysis of the questions that social studies teachers use in learning teaching testing and evaulation process according to bloom's taxonomy

This work's is to confirmwhat level of questıons that Social Studies Teachers ask to students according to cognitive domain of Bloom's taxonomywhile performingtesting and evaluation activites. Because of this, exam paperswere exomined by gatheringfrom the teachers working in secondaryscholls in Afyonkarahisar and the guestions were groupedaccording toBloom's taxonomy. At the same time same resultssuch as what kind of questions that the teachers want to ask and what they take info consideration while asking questions were tried to reach through the interviews contugdetin interview form. In the scope of research 51 teachers were contacdetand their exam sheets were examined. Totaly 1302 qustions were examined according to factors suchas teachers seniorities, gender, tyesof questions they asked and departments they groduated. At the same time 12 teachers were interviewed with the interview forms and their opinions about asking questions were taken. During the data analysis ''Question Research Form''developed by Çalışkan, (2011) was used. In the research, Deseriptive analysis model from the gualitative method was accepted and because of this document analysis techniguewas used.besides this to supply the reliability examsheets were examined by three different people and the questions that connot be come to a joint decision were connectedto a result by counselling to an expert's opinion. At the result of the research it is seen that most questions were asked from the knowledge and understanding levels. None questions was asked from the evalation level and only one question was asked from the synthesis level. It is seen that the most preferred questions are at the lowest level of Bloom's taxonomy. It is determined that the questions which willget students to think and increase students creavıtyare preferred less or not asked from thse levels. Key words: Social Studies, Bloom's Taxonomy, Exam
