Abstract (EN)

This research is a qualitative work which discusses prostitution phenomenon, which has always been as a problem at society, on both legal and illegal points. It has been tried to determine the problems which causes prostitution economically, socially, psychologically, culturally, biologically, technologically and sexually.After making a literature review and getting necessary legal permission, the reseacher had interviews with 51 legal prostitution aggrieved in Diyarbakır Bawdy House profoundly. The data held by these interviews have been announced at this research. Although the research has been done only with the women at Diyarbakır Pawdy House, it includes more data than evaluations of pawdy house women and legal prostitution matter.Following the research, the reasons of prostitution have been presented via life stories of the women. It has been found that the ones at prostitution sector are undergone economic, sexual and psychologic abuse.Key Words: Legal prostitution, bawdy house, phenomenon
