Abstract (EN)
One of the most important communication tools actively used in our country is undoubtedly social media. This platform, where people frequently communicate with each other, is developing day by day and increasing its importance. With the increasing importance of social media, it is indisputable that there are positive/negative effects on the creativity levels of individuals. For this reason, in this study, the use of social media tools and their positive/negative effects on individual creativity were examined based on the sample of "bankers in Kayseri province". For this purpose, 340 questionnaires were collected and analyzed through Google Form from active bank employees in Kayseri province. The questionnaire form includes statements containing descriptive questions about the demographic characteristics of the participants, their intensity of social media use, their level of fear of missing developments, and how social media use affects individual creativity. In order to analyze the effect of fear of missing out on individual creativity, multivariate linear regression analyses were conducted with models in which social media addiction dimensions were used as independent variables and statements about individual creativity were used as dependent variables. According to the results of the research, it has been observed that virtual communication, one of the sub-dimensions of social media addiction, has a positive effect on bank employees' level of agreement with the statement "social media can be a source of ideas for creativity", virtual tolerance and virtual communication, two of the sub-dimensions of social media addiction, have a positive effect on bank employees' level of agreement with the statement "social media is a good tool for the implementation of creative ideas", virtual communication, one of the sub-dimensions of social media addiction, has a positive effect on bank employees' level of agreement with the statement "social media is a suitable source for the dissemination of creative ideas".
