Abstract (EN)
Today, social media platforms play an extraordinary role in political communication. Political parties actively use social media platforms to reach large audiences, promote their policies, and engage with their supporters. This study aims to examine the effects of social media on voter preferences. The widespread use of social media platforms and the increasing number of users have made the impact of these platforms on political awareness and participation even more significant. The research evaluates the usage rates of various social media platforms, the time users spend on these platforms, and the effects of these platforms on information acquisition, communication, and political participation. A survey was conducted with 403 randomly selected participants in Ankara. The findings from this research provide important insights into understanding and better managing the effects of social media on voter preferences. Social media has become an indispensable tool for modern political campaigns and voter engagement. Keywords: Social Media, Political Participation, Voter Preference, Election
