Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to synthesize new spiropyran metal compounds and investigate their photochromic properties. IBTH2 (3'H-spiro(indole-3,2'-(1,3)benzothazole-2(1H)-one) ligand which was formed by isatine and 2-aminothiofenol and its metal complexes with Ni(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) chloride salts have been synthesized. Their structures have been determined by single crystal X-Ray, TGA, AAS, FT-IR, Magnetic Susceptibility, Elemental Analysis and UV-Vis. The UV interactions of synthesized metal complexes have been investigated at different times such as 2, 4, 6, and 8 min. When ligand display photochromism, Ni(II) and Co(II) complexes indicated UV absorber properties. On the other hand, the weak negative photochromism was observed as for Cu(II) complex.
