Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to investigate the affect of social media usage on students of Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences about their sleep patterns and eating habits according to gender, age,economic situations,duration of social media usage, devices of social media usage,skipping meals, sleep duration. This research is conducted with 2022-2023 educational period Elazığ University Physical Education and Sport Sciences students. The sample of the research consist of 460 students chosen from the population randomly. The survey providing individuals' self-reporting was applied to obtain research data. ORTHO 11 Scale, personal information form, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, scale of social media usage are used to collect data for research. Statistics and analysis of research were carried out by using SPSS 20 Package Program. According to various variable in research, binary comparisons were examined by using independent sample t-test, also comparisons having three or more variable were examined by using one-way analysis of variance. Because the individuals in the sample are student, there is no significant difference from many dependent variables. It is not observed important differences among variables such as age, working year, income statue, gender. In the research social media tools used by sport science students studying at university and Circadian Rhythm and nutritional patterns affected by these will be determined. Necessary evaluations will be made by analyzing the effects on the students. At the same time, the right step will be taken to reach aimed levels of efficiency in terms of sport science students.
