Abstract (EN)
This research aimed to examine the effect of perceived psychological capital on academic and athletic self-efficacy among students of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, and to establish relationships with various variables. The study employed a quantitative approach using a general survey method. The research sample consisted of 750 students enrolled in the Faculty of Sports Sciences during the 2023-2024 academic year, comprising 326 females and 509 males. In addition to a demographic information form, the study utilized the "Athletic Self-Efficacy Scale" (ASES), the "Psychological Capital Perception Scale" (PCPS), and the "Academic Self-Efficacy Scale" (ASES). Data analysis included T-tests, ANOVA, Pearson correlation and Regression analysis methods. According to the research findings, females exhibited higher levels of psychological competence, self-efficacy, and academic self-efficacy. ASES, PCPS, and ASES scores were found to be significantly higher in participants engaged in licensed and individual sports. Moreover, those who had more years of sports participation and higher income levels also showed higher ASES, PCPS, and ASES scores. In conclusion, the study identified significantly positive relationships among ASES, PCPS and ASES. Importantly, perceived psychological capital was found to play a significant role in predicting athletic self-efficacy (76%) and academic self-efficacy (78%).
