Investigation of the attitudes of the students of the faculty of sports sciences and the faculty of health sciences about healthy nutrition

The aim of this research is to investigate the attitudes of the students of the faculty of sports sciences and the faculty of health sciences regarding healthy nutrition. The research group consists of university students studying at Namik Kemal University in Tekirdağ in the 2023-2024 academic year. A total of 789 students, including 508 women and 281 men, participated in this study. Simple random technique was applied with probabilistic proportional stratification method in sample selection. Participants were asked to fill in the Personal information form with information about the Attitude Scale Related to Healthy Eating (SBITÖ) and fill it out. Normality distributions were made according to the Skewness and Kurtosis values according to the research findings in the analysis and interpretation of the data. Accordingly, Mann–Whitney U Test, Kruskal Wallis test, Spearman Correlation Analysis test were used for data that did not show normal distribution. Hypothesis Test Summary, Independent-Sample Kruskal Wallis test and Pairwise Comparison test were used to Decipher the difference between the groups. For the data showing normal distribution, anova test, one-way analysis of variance, frequency analysis and descriptive statistical analysis were used. As a result of this study; in the faculty of health sciences, a significant difference was found in terms of total attitude scores related to healthy eating according to department, class, playing sports, living person, father's educational status, family monthly income level, general health assessment variables, while in the faculty of sports sciences, a significant difference was found in terms of total attitude scores related to healthy eating according to sports playing and general health assessment variables.
