Abstract (EN)

The aim of this thesis is to examine the relationship between career planning levels and achievement-oriented motivation levels of students studying in sports sciences and to determine whether there is a difference in terms of some variables. The research model is descriptive and is a quantitative study conducted in relational survey design. The population of the research consists of 600 students studying at the Faculty of Sports Sciences of Muş Alparslan University, and the sample group consists of 323 students, 149 of whom are female and 225 of whom are male, selected by random method and reached on the basis of volunteerism. A scale form consisting of three parts was used in the study. In the first part, questions were asked to determine the demographic information of the sample group. In the second part, "Career Planning Scale (CPS) of Students Studying in Sports Sciences" developed by Yavuz Eroğlu and Eroğlu (2020) was used. In the third part, the "Achievement-Oriented Motivation Scale (AOMS)" developed by Semerci (2010) was used. The Achievement-Oriented Motivation Scale consists of 4 sub-dimensions and 35 items: external influences, internal influences, goal magnification and self-consciousness. SPSS 25 package program was used to analyze the data. First, normality distribution of the data was examined. After the statistical procedures, it was seen that the kurtosis and skewness values of the scale dimensions were within the limits of +3 and -3 and the data set showed a normal distribution. Parametric tests were used for the normally distributed data set. Accordingly, t-test was used for pairwise comparisons and One Way ANOVA test was used for multiple comparisons. Pearson Correlations analysis was applied for statistical procedures related to the relationship between the scale dimensions and the relationship between them. As a result of the study, in the correlation relationship between the sub-dimensions of the Career Planning Scale and Achievement-Oriented Motivation scales, it was observed that there was a moderate, positive and significant relationship between the career awareness sub-dimension and the external influences, internal influences and self-consciousness sub-dimensions. However, a moderate but negative significant relationship was found between the career awareness sub-dimension and the goal magnification sub-dimension.
