Examining the relationship between communication skills of sports managers and conflict management

In this study, it is aimed to examine the relationship between communication skills and conflict management styles of sports managers. In our study, relational screening model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. The universe of our research consists of sports facilities that provide sports services on behalf of public and local governments in the province of Istanbul. The sample consists of 137 managers, including 51 women and 86 men, who work in executive positions in these facilities. Within the scope of the research, personal information form, communication skills scale and conflict management styles scale were used as data collection tools. By moving the scales to the online environment, sports managers were enabled to answer the questions digitally. The data obtained from the scales were analyzed using IBM SPSS 24.0 package program. In the research; distribution analysis, descriptive analysis and parametric hypothesis tests, independent sample T test and Oneway anova analysis were applied. In order to determine the difference between the groups, Post-hoc (LSD) analysis was performed. In addition, Pearson Correlation analysis was applied to determine the relationship between the communication skills scale and Deciency management styles scales. As a result, In the study in which we examined the relationship between the communication skills of sports managers and conflict management styles, it was observed that as the communication skills of sports managers increased, the Deceleration levels of conflict management also increased. According to this result, it is thought that sports manager candidates should have effective communication skills in order to be able to effectively control and manage the conflict experienced.
