Abstract (EN)
This research; by examining the perception of student-athletes in the athletic branch in the Athletic Training Centers affiliated to the General Directorate of Sports, Gender, age of the spouse according to the residential-daytime status in the SEM. The study's universe consisted of 245 male and female students and athletes in the field of athletics in the 15 Sports Training Centers registered in the academic year of 2015- 2016. The sample of the study consisted of 214 athletes trained and participated in 15 athletic training centers in the field of athletics. As a means of data collection in the study, Gill, et al. (1983) and Oyar et al. (2001) developed the Participation Motivation Questionnaire (PMQ), Roberts, Treasure and Balague (1998), which was adapted to the Turkish population and translated into Turkish by Cetinkalp in (2006). In addition to demographic information such as age and sex of the athletes as well as statues in SEM (boarding / daytime), the reasons for selecting SEM were measured by the Personal Information Form developed by the researcher. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistical techniques, One-way ANOVA, Multiple Variance Analysis (MANOVA) and Pearson Correlation technique were used. According to the results of statistical analysis, there was no statistically significant difference between the participation motives of the athletes according to gender and statues in SEM (boarding / daytime) (p> 0.05). When the Perception Perception values were examined, it was found that there was statistically significant difference between the task orientations of the athletes according to gender and SEM status (boarding / daytime) variables (p <0.05). Besides, there was a significant positive correlation between the target orientations of the athletes and the participation motivation (p <0.01). As a result, we can say that female athletes are more satisfied with their performance compared to male athletes when they show mastery of the task, when they learn a new skill, and when they make much effort. However, we can say that the athletes in boarding status give more importance to skill learning, skill development, hard work and self-development than the athletes in daytime status.
