Abstract (EN)

This research on ?Steatopygic Mother Goddess Statuettes and Their Influence On the 20th Century Sculpture? explores the mother goddess statuettes, described as 'steatopygic' in the prehistoric period, and elaborates on the influence of this extravagant application on the 20th century sculpture.The transformation in the domain of art that initiated at the end of the 19th century as a result of industrial developments caused artists to examine the art of other communities and cultures they describe as primitive. The artists of this period observed and were influenced by the art of antiquity and primitive tribes extensively.In this study, the statues of Venus in the so-called prehistoric period have been explored in terms of their influence on the 20th century art, artists and their works.
