Abstract (EN)

This research is made by the aim of investigation and determination of macroscobic, microscobic, biochemical and biomechanic effects of Hypericum perforatum ointment on the skin wounds of the back side of the rats which are made diabetes by STZ. In this study, 3-4 months old, 180-240 g wheighted 70 male Wistar albino rats are used. Total 5 groups of rat, constituded 14 rats by each group were being 2 control and 3 trial groups. Diabetic Wistar-Albino rats generated by giving one shot of STZ (45mg/kg) into intraperitoneal way. Two days after giving STZ, the diabetic animals are included in study which has fasting blood glucose levels 300 mg/dl. At the back of the rats 1.5 cm diameter excision and 4 cm long incision wounds are generated and except control groups, pure Hypericum perforatum oil and H. perforatum ointment doses (1%-5%) are applied on tehse wounds for 7-14 days along. At 7th and 14th days, all the groups are evaluated by macroscopical, microscopical, biochemical and biomechanical and with probability measures. At the and of the experiments, the best macroscopic healing was seen at the 14th day in the proup of 1% H. perforatum ointment applied group as 69.16% . The highest hydroxyproline values are found in 5% HP group at the end of 14th day. The best macroscopic healing among incision groups was seen in 1% HP group, the highest hydroxyproline values are seen in pure HP and 1% HP groups at the end of 7th day, and in the microscopicmeasures all groups showed good epithelisation and skin tension resistans valuers were pretty high in pure HP group. When H. perforatum ointment applied groups results are compared to unapplied groups, it seems ointments are more more healer macroscopically but at microscobic level it did not show any expect healing effect.
